The fact I have to share is this... There is wide variation in mental abilities, behavior and physical development in individuals with Down syndrome. Each individual has his/her own unique personality, capabilities and talents.
Can't that be said of all children? I think it can be. I KNOW it can be. Children and people in general are as different as snowflakes, or leaf shapes. Why people try to limit that and say "because my child has Down syndrome they won't be able to..." is ridiculous beyond belief. Instead as parents we should not limit our children, and we SHOULD encourage them to reach their potential. Let your children with (or without) Down syndrome amaze you... because they can, and they will.
Yay... it is the MOST.WONDERFUL.TIME.OF.THE.YEAR!
