Day 8...

Hi friends... Hope you have had a beautiful Sabbath, or Saturday.
Today is Day 8 and the fact that I will share is pretty straight forward.
It is this...  There are 3 types of Down syndrome:

1) Nondisjunction, which about 94% of people with DS have. It means every cell has an extra 21st chromosome.

2) Translocation, which about 3-4% of people with DS have. It means every cell carries the genetic material from the extra 21st chromosome, but that it stacked itself on another chromosome, like 14 or 21. This type of DS can also be genetic.

3) Mosaic, which about 2-3% of people with DS have. This means that not every cell has the extra 21st chromosome, only some of them do. You could also have translocation mosaicism.
