First thing this morning we learned some sad news. Some friends in the Down syndrome community who lost their sweet daughter, Carly, who had Ds, just a short year and a half ago, had a house fire last night and their son Brad, who was in his early 20's, perished in the blaze. So I'd like to ask that you please be in prayer for the George family. We are all heartbroken for them.
That leads me to what I consider another "fact" about Down syndrome, and all special needs actually... When you have a child who has special needs or one is differently abled, you are instantly in this much bigger family, or a part of something that is much greater, and better than you are. Of course like every family there are people that you should distance yourself from, but for the most part it is all good! And when you are out with your child and you come upon another family with a child who shares your childs diagnosis there is an instant connection. It is a very good thing. People who don't have a child with Down syndrome or other special needs have no idea what a very cool thing they are missing out on. :)
The big boy, only a week or so old. Stuck in the NICU. Torture for a mama.
Hope your weekend has been great. Ours has gone too fast! :(
See you back tomorrow!

Praying for your friends. *hugs*
Wow, he is a big boy! How much did he weigh at birth? Was in in the NICU for Down or something else?
